Hi, I’m Bernd from Vienna, Austria. Some know me as “Console”. I’m a programmer, sysop and owner-manager of Phalanx GmbH.
Credits
This site is generated with Hugo, a static site generator. I looked at many alternatives, but a single binary beats yet another npm install and node version I need to babysit. No ready made theme is used, HTML/SCSS templates are custom built. This site is almost JavaScript‑free, but theme switching requires a bit of code.
Font is IBM Plex Sans and Mono. There is otherwise little IBM in my life (as it should be), so I thought the font would be a fitting tribute to the x86 that has had such a profound influence on me.
Tools
It’s a good tradition to talk about the tools you use daily so others can check them out and maybe the developers sell one more copy.
I use macOS and Windows, but my primary machine is my beloved MacBook Pro M1 Max, which connects to an external keyboard and two 4K screens because I like to maintain an upright posture.
